Chickpea Hummus

Hummus is a chickpea cream with lemon, popular at family gatherings. Originating from the Middle East, especially Israel. The process involves blending cooked chickpeas with seasonings and serving cold with pita bread.

In a tall, deep container, mix the chickpeas, cumin, garlic cloves, and tender parsley.

After adding the juice of one lemon, sweet paprika, basil, pepper, and salt to taste, mix everything again.

It is recommended to serve cold to enjoy the chickpea hummus with pita bread.

Ingredients

250 grams of Cooked chickpeas

1 teaspoon of Cumin

1 teaspoon of Ground sweet paprika

2 Garlic cloves

2 Tender parsley sprigs

Sprinkle a little pepper

10 milliliters of Lemon juice

1 teaspoon of Basil

1 pinch of Salt

Preparation

Step 1 : In a tall, deep bowl, add the chickpeas and blend well with an immersion blender or mortar and pestle.

Step 2 : Separately, grind the cumin, garlic cloves, and tender parsley in a mortar.

Step 3 : Add this mixture to the mashed chickpeas, along with the lemon juice, sweet paprika, basil, pepper, and salt to taste.

Step 4 : Blend lightly again, leaving visible pieces of parsley.

Step 5 : It is recommended to serve cold, accompanied by pita bread.
