Preparation
Step 1 : To prepare this delicious jachnun, start by mixing the flour, honey, baking powder, salt, and water to form a sticky dough.
Step 2 : After kneading, it is important to let it rest for at least 10 minutes.
Step 3 : Next, divide the dough into six balls and roll each into a thin square of 40 by 40 centimeters, greasing the work surface as needed.
Step 4 : Once the square is ready, generously rub it with olive oil and lightly sprinkle with yeast.
Step 5 : Then, fold into thirds and roll out again in both directions to create a long, narrow strip.
Step 6 : This strip is rolled up, stretching it during the process, and placed on a pre-greased baking dish covered with parchment paper.
Step 7 : Arrange the jachnun on the dish, optionally serve with clean eggs, and bake overnight at a low temperature of 100 to 110 degrees Celsius.
Step 8 : Once baked, the jachnun will have a golden and delicious color.
Step 9 : To prepare the condiments, wash and grate the tomatoes.
Step 10 : When grating, cut the tomatoes in half and grate the cut side to extract the pulp.
Step 11 : This grated tomato, along with skhug sauce, spicy pepper, and hard-boiled eggs, is served accompanying the jachnun.
Step 12 : Ready to enjoy this traditional dish!
