Potato and Onion Knishes
Ingredients
1 kilogram of Potato puree
½ kilogram of Flour
1 Egg
4 tablespoons of Oil
250 centiliters of Water
3 Chopped onions
Oil
1 pinch of Salt
1 pinch of Pepper
Preparation
Step 1 : Chopped onions are placed in a skillet with a little oil and sautéed until they turn golden.
Step 2 : Once ready, they are left to cool.
Step 3 : In a separate bowl, combine the mashed potatoes with the sautéed onions, season with salt and pepper to taste, then set aside for the filling.
Step 4 : To prepare the dough, in a bowl mix the flour, egg, oil, and warm water, kneading until a smooth and homogeneous texture is achieved.
Step 5 : Divide the dough into three equal parts, forming balls that are covered with a clean cloth and left to rest for a few minutes.
Step 6 : Each ball is rolled out with a rolling pin until a thin disc is obtained.
Step 7 : Place a small amount of the filling in the center of the circle, leaving a margin around the edges.
Step 8 : Then, fold the dough over the filling and roll into a cylinder.
