Chocolate Horchata

Ingredients

1 tablespoon of Vanilla essence

1 Whole cinnamon stick

4 tablespoons of Brown sugar

2 liters of Water

½ cup of Rice

3 tablespoons of Cocoa powder

Preparation

Step 1 : The cinnamon stick is lightly toasted on a griddle or in a pan, making sure it doesn't burn.

Step 2 : The rice along with the toasted cinnamon stick is blended dry until a fine texture is achieved.

Step 3 : Then, three cups of water are added and blended again.

Step 4 : The cocoa is incorporated into the mixture and blended until well integrated.

Step 5 : Next, it is left to rest for at least 10 minutes for the flavors to develop.

Step 6 : This concentrate can be stored in the refrigerator for several days.

Step 7 : Before preparing the horchata, strain the mixture using a fine sieve or a cheesecloth, and pour into a pitcher.

Step 8 : Add vanilla and sugar, mix well, and dilute with water to taste until about two liters are reached.
