Coconut Macaroons
Ingredients
2 Egg whites
⅓ cup of Sugar
½ teaspoon of Salt
1 tablespoon of Flour
2 cups of Grated coconut
1 teaspoon of Vanilla extract
Melted chocolate
Preparation
Step 1 : The process begins by preheating the oven to 350°F (175°C) and lining a baking sheet with parchment paper.
Step 2 : In a bowl, combine the egg whites, sugar, and salt, and beat with a hand mixer at low speed until the mixture foams and looks shiny, about two to three minutes.
Step 3 : Next, add the flour, grated coconut, and vanilla extract, gently mixing or beating until all ingredients are fully incorporated.
Step 4 : Using a measuring spoon, place small portions of the mixture on the prepared baking sheet, leaving space between each as they will spread slightly during baking.
Step 5 : Place the tray in the oven and bake the macaroons for about ten minutes, positioning the rack in the middle level of the oven, until the surface is lightly golden.
Step 6 : It’s important to let the macaroons cool completely on the tray before removing them to prevent breaking.
Step 7 : If desired, melt chocolate and use it to dip or drizzle over the macaroons, giving them an extra special and delicious touch.
